Illusions drive my whole career;
recitations earn my cheers.
Though I rehearse each word I say
and dance in patterns everyday,
I've not travesersed a stage in years.
The lines I speak are what I wrote
ignoring critics' ill-thought notes.
I craft my parts around the scene,
but they're my thoughts on what I seen,
'cause truth can come from showboats.
Magicians see the cards you're palming.
Actors always know you're acting.
Though their clapping's sometimes softest,
their participation's quite sincerest,
'cause they know you're up there dying.

I’m Judith

Or rather the pseudonym I’m currently using here is Judith. I’m a free time writer and full time performer (in the sense that everyone’s performing all the time, some just more consciously than others). My poetry, which centers on translating minor moments into obscure observations, has appeared in various collections under different names. My psyche resides along the Singing River.
