Read time: 1 min.
The rings of my house’s wooden walls,
The rings of my toeprints,
And the rings of Life and Death’s dance,
Reflect the rings of your ripples,
Primordial Source,
Sustainer of All.
As you carry the memory of all you cover,
In the minerals you dissolve,
The vibrations that alter your tides,
And the cells of our DNA,
So may we carry the memories
Of our common source and destination
And not pollute our relations
Any more than we pollute your body,
For in doing so we pollute our own.
As your waves crash against rocks
Then fall back to you
For rebirth on the next wind’s breath,
As a fish may leap from you
To feed an oak tree
So it can feed a squirrel,
And as the puddle the last universe left
Became the broth that birthed the current world,
So may our dying sigh
Become our next birth cry,
And may we breathe a little better
When we receive another chance.
